“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the state.” – Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels, Reich Minister of Propaganda, Nazi Germany
Maybe it’s me, but ever since I woke up three years ago – I found that I have this “sixth sense” that allows me to see through the fog of our national news media. When they claim X – I see Y. When they say 2 + 1 = 4, I know that the spin doctors are again planting seeds of disinformation that will take root in the collective mind of the masses.
Goebbels' axiom often comes to mind...that the more outrageous the lie and the more you repeat that lie, the more people will believe in that lie!
If you have been watching the news—in between your Dancing with Stars or American Idol episodes—the big machine is at it again, this time they are trying their best to divide and conquer us.
What I am referring to is the Trayvon Martin tragedy.
The United States has come a very long way in terms of racial integration, tolerance and understanding. We even elected our first African American president in order to show the world (and each other) how far we have come.
Yet the controlled-media and Obama administration hope to exploit this unfortunate incident to their advantage in order to divide and conquer. It appears as if they wish to cause racial unrest—implying that white on black crimes are reaching a boiling point. Some pundits believe this is being exploited to benefit Obama in the upcoming presidential race, while others believe that it may be another effort to stir up and justify a clamp-down on the 2nd Amendment.
Despite multiple witnesses telling Sanford police that they saw Martin attacking George Zimmerman before he was fatally shot by Zimmerman in self-defense, there has been a concerted effort by the Obama administration and its soundpieces to open the debate on the “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law. In an interview with CBS, Vice President Biden recently said, “The idea that there’s this overwhelming additional security in the ownership and carrying concealed and deadly weapons… I think it’s the premise, not the constitutional right, but the premise that it makes people safer is one of the that I’m not sure of.”
This incident comes on the heels of the U.S. Justice Department’s botched Operation Fast and Furious and Attorney General Eric Holder’s calls for Americans to be “brainwashed” out of their support for gun rights. In a blatant attempt to wade into the political controversy, President Obama was very quick to proclaim Trayvon to be “the son he never had,” creating the perfect catalyst for more hysteria and the black-on-white reverse lynch-mob mentality. Why the president of the United States would interject himself, race and the controversy of this tragedy into mainstream politics only illustrates Obama’s efforts to not let a serious crises go to waste.
What followed was Al Sharpton and his inevitable call for civil disobedience, Mike Tyson’s comments that George Zimmerman deserves violent retribution, to Spike Lee’s tweeting what he believed was Zimmerman’s home address (only to discover it was an innocent elderly couple who was forced to go into hiding), and more overt race-baiting. Meanwhile emanating from ground zero, is the New Black Panther party calling for a $10,000 bounty for the reward for capture of George Zimmerman. And if that wasn’t bad enough, even Bill Cosby is weighing on the fact that neighborhood watch citizens shouldn’t be armed.
Meanwhile the rhetoric has only increased…
“It’s time for us, as black men, to take justice in our own hands. If you won’t give us justice, we will have to take justice.” Mikhail Muhammad, leader of the New Black Panther Party told a crowd. “An eye for an eye. A life for an life.” The Reverend Jesse Jackson recently stated, “Blacks are under attack.”
Now how exactly are these reactions going to benefit Trayvon Martin or any other African American for that matter? I suppose those are rhetorical questions—and ones that will never be asked of these “civil rights leaders” by today’s complicit media… If you recall, the New Black Panther Party made the news during the 2008 elections by allegedly carrying out voter intimidation. I say allegedly, but it’s hard to deny that two black men engaging voters while wielding truncheons at a voting station is anything but intimidating.
So, back to the Trayvon/Zimmerman case, at the heart of the controversy is the 2005 Florida Stand Your Ground Law, that allows people to use deadly force anywhere they have a right to be if they have reasonable fear an assailant could seriously harm them or someone else. Now elected officials and the Justice Department are trying to weigh in on the law. Senator Charles Schumer, D-NY, called Sunday for the Justice Department to investigate “whether these laws are creating more violence than they are prevent,” and whether some deaths go unprosecuted “because the laws place unintended additional burdens on local police and prosecutors that encourage dismissals of otherwise problematic cases.” Schumer went to state in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, “These laws seems to be encouraging vigilantism by allowing individuals to use deadly force as the first resort.”
I find it ironic, that Twitter, one of the largest social networking giants who has previously agreed to comply with various government’s requests to comply with censorship, has actually refused to delete a profile page called Kill Zimmerman, advocating the violent murder of George Zimmerman. Why isn’t this being covered by mainstream news? Instead, we have open admissions that NBC News deliberately edited a call between Zimmerman and a 911 dispatcher prior to Martin’s death to make it appear that Zimmerman was a racist.
The fallout from this tragedy and media hype illustrates the gravity of this half-baked attempt to divide and conquer. Unfortunately it may be working. A poll by Reuters/Ipsos said 91% of African-Americans believe Trayvon was unjustly killed while just 35% of whites thoughts so. We can only hope, that having Zimmerman post bail and being monitored while he awaits trial may allow the controversy to blow over until his court case. Nevertheless, the furor that has ensued seems to have consumed the country while the liberal left want a reexamination of guns, race and self-defense laws.
Unfortunately, we are now witnessing black on white crimes in response to the Zimmerman shooting. According to police, a white Alabama man, Matthew Owens was beaten by a mob using such things as chairs, pipes and paint cans and was hospitalized and in critical condition. One of his assailants allegedly said, "Now that's justice for Trayvon." As you would expect from all the so-called mainstream media’s coverage on this incident, more innocent Americans are being assaulted by gangs of black youths in retaliation for the killing of Trayvon Martin.
I find it encouraging that one of the GOP’s handful of black candidates for Congress, Allen West recently commented, “For an Administration that promised a new era in race relations, Obama and the Democrats in Congress have demonstrated that race will continually be exploited for political gain.”
I can’t help but agree with Allen West’s statement. It appears to me that the Obama administration’s reliance on the playing the so-called ‘race card’ is nothing more than a continued effort by this administration to divide and conquer.
Keep your powder dry and your faith strong!
